Restoration Manager, Flying Heritage
The Flying Heritage Collection, based in Everett, WA is recruiting for a Restoration Project Manager to manage and oversee aviation restoration projects. These projects occur at a number of sites domestically and internationally. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the restoration of vintage aircraft worldwide in various vendor facilities. The Restoration Manager will be able to assess the progress and quality of the restoration work being performed to ensure that the restoration produces an aircraft as authentic to the original as possible, while still meeting current FAA requirements.
This role will also offer opportunities to use prior hands-on maintenance experience while assisting the aircraft maintenance team. In addition, the Restoration Project Manager will have leverage technical knowledge and experience to assess the restoration work performed by others. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of aviation with an emphasis on vintage aircraft restoration. They will also have an understanding of and ability to perform aircraft restorations.

The planes within the Flying Heritage Collection were created at a time when aeronautical discovery had evolved to aviation mastery. Finely crafted by distinguished design bureaus with leading technologies of the 1930s and 1940s, the main emphasis of the collection includes combat aircraft from World War II, as well as the Cold War era. The Flying Heritage Collection is undergoing a period of dynamic growth focused on the opening of a new facility at Paine Field in 2008. For the first time, the majority of the collection will be housed in a single building which will be open to the public. While remaining modest in size, the staff will be doubling in number by the opening.
